History Society committee member Tim Neal looks back at how Keighley’s public library was opened as one of the earliest Carnegie libraries in the UK back in 1904, and how it has developed over the past 120 years.
Keighley and District Local History Society’s monthly meetings are held upstairs in the Local Studies Library on the first floor of Keighley Library on North Street. Doors open at 7pm and the meeting starts around 7.20pm. We aim to finish between 8.30pm and 8.45pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend and entry is free to History Society members or £3.50 if not a member. Members can also choose to join the meeting via Zoom if they prefer (details on how to join the meeting via Zoom are sent out in an email a few days before the meeting).
