Art historian Colin Neville’s talk is on the origins and development of Keighley School of Art – for over 50 years one of the most prestigious in the region – along with some of the successful and talented Keighley artists it nurtured, including Tom Butterfield, Frances Watson Sunderland, Annie Hugill, Arthur Reginald Smith, and Joe Pighills.
Keighley and District Local History Society’s monthly meetings are held upstairs in the Local Studies Library on the first floor of Keighley Library on North Street. Doors open at 7pm and the meeting starts around 7.20pm. We aim to finish between 8.30pm and 8.45pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend and entry is free to History Society members or £3.50 if not a member. Members can also choose to join the meeting via Zoom if they prefer (details on how to join the meeting via Zoom are sent out in an email a few days before the meeting).
